The marine environment contains an exceptional biodiversity subjected to important pressures of anthropic and climatic origin. Ecosystem-based management of the marine environment and maritime spatial planning are at the heart of policies aimed at combining sustainability and blue growth. Marine Strategy Framework (MSFD) and Maritime Spatial Planning (MEPFD) Framework Directives are the pillars of the integrated maritime policy of the European Union. France is coordinating their implementation as part of the preparation of maritime strategic plans (DSF).
