What is a workshop?

A Sea Tech Week® workshop is an interactive session lasting between 1 to 2.5 hours (subject to approval), designed to share expertise, present a project or initiative, launch a debate, deepen a topic, or foster new collaborations. These sessions may take the form of round tables, working groups, pitch sessions, or other dynamic formats.

Who can submit a proposal?

Workshops are organized by a legal entity (higher education institution, research center, company, association, public body, etc.), either alone or in partnership with another organisation. The involvement of international organisations is highly encouraged.

Why organise a Workshop?

  1. Showcase your projects to a qualified international audience.

  2. Increase your visibility as an expert or reference organization in a specific field.

  3. Engage partners, strengthen your network, and initiate new collaborations.

  4. Associate your organization with a recognized event supported by leading maritime institutions.

  5. Actively contribute to strategic discussions on scientific, technological, and environmental maritime challenges.

Tips for organising a successful workshop

  1. Choose a clear, concrete, and attractive topic. Use evocative titles and concise summaries.

  2. Build a diverse speaker panel, including different organisations and, if possible, international profiles.

  3. Anticipate logistics. Ensure smooth coordination among speakers and contact the team if technical support is needed.

  4. Promote your workshop. Use the communication tools provided by the Campus Mondial de la Mer team (video tutorials, social media relays).

  5. Give your workshop a lasting impact. Connect with other organisers and Campus mondial de la mer partners to foster cross-community exchanges.

Next step: the call for speakers

You can be interested in the call for speakers, which will be launched in early 2026 to allow individual contributors (researchers, project leaders, experts, etc.) to join existing workshops. Workshop organisers will be invited to consult this list to complete their panels.
