An edition focused on maritime security
This year, Sea Tech Week® highlighted the challenges and technological solutions aimed at ensuring the security of ships, ports, and maritime infrastructure, while safeguarding the safety of the oceans. Throughout 30 workshops, 3 high-level sessions, and the opening session, topics such as the prevention of maritime cyberattacks, crisis management at sea, crew safety technologies, and the fight against illicit trafficking and piracy were addressed.
Strengthened international exchanges and renewed partnerships
With 20% of international participants, this edition confirmed the global nature of Sea Tech Week®. Notable highlights included the renewal of the partnership between the Campus mondial de la mer and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa, further strengthening collaborations with India. The presence of a South Korean delegation also paved the way for a promising partnership.
Ireland, the guest country of this edition, was represented by a delegation of 50 experts, further emphasizing the event’s European dimension. The European Union booth, focusing on anti-piracy efforts, along with European projects such as SaferSEA and SmartDec, underscored the growing importance of international cooperation. Representatives from DGMOVE and EMSA participated in the discussions, aligned with European maritime initiatives, with Ireland standing as a key partner for Brittany within the EU.
Encouraging the next generation of maritime professionals
This year, Sea Tech Week® also emphasized employment and training in the maritime sector. Around fifty job seekers attended a job dating event, where 10 companies presented their offers. Additionally, 15% of participants were students, highlighting the importance of training future professionals in the maritime field.
The BiMer class from Collège La Fontaine Margot had the opportunity to discover maritime careers through a visit organized in partnership with CiNav and La Touline, aiming to inspire young people to pursue maritime vocations.
A bustling trade show
The trade show brought together 37 exhibitors, including startups, companies, institutions, and academics, all showcasing their innovations in fields such as space technology, robotics, sensors, and cybersecurity. The pavilions dedicated to the European Union and Ireland were key meeting points for participants.

The high-level sessions focused on critical topics shaping the future of maritime security.
A promising future for maritime security
The active participation of attendees helped outline new avenues for addressing future security challenges. Discussions highlighted the role of artificial intelligence and data analysis in preventing maritime incidents. Experts also emphasized the need for crew and sector professionals to be trained to confront new threats.
Looking ahead to 2026
Following this edition filled with valuable exchanges and innovations, Brest is already preparing for the next Sea Tech Week® in October 2026, with the goal of continuing to unite international actors around the security and sustainability of the oceans. The guest country of honour will be Portugal.

Sea Tech Week® is organised by Technopôle Brest-Iroise as part of the Campus mondial de la mer, France's leading community of ocean experts, located at the tip of Brittany. The event is co-financed by the the Regional Council of Brittany, and Brest Métropole.
