      • The official launch of Sea Tech Week© (15-17 October 2024, Brest, France) is taking place this afternoon, 24 May 2023, on the stand of the French Pavilion - Campus mondial de la mer at the European Maritime Day.

This event, organised by the Technopôle Brest-Iroise, will be the next major international meeting of marine science and technology stakeholders in Brest. The newly renovated Le Quartz conference centre will be decked out in the colours of the Irish flag, the country of honour. The central theme: maritime safety and security.

Call for workshops on maritime safety and security

Higher education institutions, research centres, companies, public bodies, clusters or associations, etc., are invited to propose workshop topics. These workshops will make up, along with the high-level plenary sessions, the programme of the 14th edition of Sea Tech Week®.

The topics? cybersecurity, environment, marine and underwater navigation, data issues, space observation, regulations, etc.

Members of the Campus mondial de la mer community, as well as national, European and international organisations, can submit an idea for a workshop, and thus make Sea Tech Week® an increasingly international event in Brest.

        Deadline: November 24th 2023

        Ireland, country of honour

Around thirty Irish representatives came to Brest for the European Maritime Days. For them, it is a foretaste of Sea Tech Week® 2024. Ireland, a country known for its culture of innovation and its dynamism in hosting technology companies and startups. The country is also home to many research and development centres in areas such as marine energy, digital technologies, marine biotechnology, marine engineering, marine science, etc.

Sea Tech Week® is an opportunity to consolidate existing collaborations with players from Brittany and to develop new ones. This will be the first time that a country of the European Union will be the featured country of the event.

        Sea Tech Week® will feature:

3 high-level plenary sessions, 30 workshops, 50 exhibitors, BtoB meetings and a receptive programme.

Every two years, Sea Tech Week® brings together over 1,200 local and international experts in Brest. This international week of marine science and technology has become the essential meeting place for the scientific community and companies that imagine the maritime innovations of tomorrow, thus contributing to the knowledge and preservation of our ocean.

Sea Tech Week® is the flagship event of the Campus mondial de la mer community, the leading French community of experts in the study and development of the ocean, located at the tip of Brittany.
