The University of Limerick, Centre for Robotics & Intelligent Systems (CRIS) is Ireland's only research centre dedicated to marine robotics and its applications. Since its establishment in 2000, CRIS has built a strong, interdisciplinary team of experts that includes academics, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students from fields such as electronics, computer science, mechanical engineering, and aeronautics. Our mission is to develop practical, industry-relevant technologies in both marine and aerial domains.
Enterprise Ireland is a trade agency of the Irish government that brings Irish innovation to the world stage. The agency supports over 5000 Irish start-up and scale-up businesses across different industry sectors in areas such as strategy, innovation, operational excellence, marketing, funding and organisational development. Outside of Ireland the agency has 40 offices around the world where sector experts are assisting global companies with sourcing world-leading technology from Ireland and building sustainable partnerships.
The Marine Institute (MI) is the State agency responsible for marine research, technology development and innovation in Ireland. It provides scientific and technical advice to Government.
The National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) is located in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. It was the first third level college built under the Government’s public-private partnership scheme. The public partners are Munster Technological University and the Irish Naval Service, while the private partner is Focus Education.
